Recently, Republican Jeff Atwater tried to pull a fast one by quoting the Miami Herald in one of their mailers. The mail piece makes two tantalizing charges: “Democrats want to raise taxes.” |
The quotations referred to are completely misleading and selectively edited. Linda Bird and Senate Democrats want to close GOP supported loopholes on select groups who pay NO TAXES. The full quotations are: “To Republicans, that means Democrats want to raise taxes”

Linda Bird only received and returned a $100 contribution from a local broker and has pledged to accept NO insurance money, as was reported by Sun-sentinel reporter Brittany Wallman. |
